Procedures for establishment of representative office in Vietnam

Representative offices of foreign companies in Vietnam are dependent units of foreign companies, established under the provisions of the law of Vietnam to learn the market and make some trade promotion activities allowed by Vietnam’s Law.

The basic conditions to be granted a license to set up representative office in Vietnam are:

• As the Company legally recognized by the Law of the country or territory (hereinafter referred to as the country) where it is established and registered its business activities.
• Having been operating for less than 01 years, since the establishment or legal business registration in its country.

Cases not to be granted a license to set up representative office in Vietnam are:

• Foreign companies do not meet the specified conditions as above.
• Foreign companies apply for granting licenses to set up representative offices in the 02 year period from the date of revocation of the establishment of representative offices in Vietnam.
