Registration of copyright

Copyrights owned by individuals or legal entities to literary works, artistic and scientific creation by or of themselves, are often called the copyright.

Currently, in Vietnam, the copyright is not registered and protected effectively. Many literary, artistic, scientific works, but not timely registered before publication, performance, applications become copied or used by individuals and organizations without the knowing of the author who gains no benefit from his copyright.

So, how can authors protect and benefit from their copyright?

For application of copyright registration, author or owner of the copyright work shall prepare the following documents:

In case the subscriber is the owner and the author / co-author

• 03 samples of works to be registered; work has been published or not; Release time;
• 02 copies of the identity card of the author / authors.
• Full name, pseudonym (if any), address, phone number, fax of the author / co-author;
• Power of attorney of the author / authors (in form);
• Commitment letter of the author that work is independently created by himself and does not violate the copyright of anyone - 1 copy (in form);

In case the applicant is not the owner and the author (organization, company)

• 03 samples of original work;
• 01 of the power of attorney of organization, company (in form);
• 01 notarized copy of identity card (ID card enclosed for comparison in case of no certified copy) of the author / authors of the certified true copies;
• Ownership transfer letter of the work of the author / authors to the work owner (organization, company) (1 copy);
• A copy of the notarized business registration certificate or establishment decision;
• Commitment letter of the author that work is independently created by himself and does not violate the copyright of anyone - 1 copy (in form);
• Other information: author's pseudonym; address; phone and fax numbers of the author or work owner.
